THE BAND WIDTH PATCH
SCENARIO ONE
Here at Zandvoort you can see one car that has spun with you across the track. As you are only viewing one car behind,
this is the only car that appears and the track seems clear for you to rejoin.
Unfortunately there are two cars approaching the scene of your accident. One of which you are about to collide with unnecessarily.
SCENARIO TWO
At the Rouen hairpin the road again seems clear apart from the car in the far distance just rounding the corner. This one is extremely deceptive
because this car is not in fact shown behind, but in front as GPL wraps to showing cars at the back when there are not enough to show in front.
If you were showing more than one car behind, you would have seen all of the other cars in between rather than driving into their path.
In both cases, and lots of other ones, showing two or more cars behind would have made the difference between a crash and a clean race. Besides
these examples, where cars are looking backwards, situations with two leaders lapping slower cars are also greatly helped when the lapped car can
see two cars behind instead of just one.
